Jan-Erik Nyström, born 1953, has more than 30 years of experience in research, development, and business development within the pharmaceutical industry, from both AstraZeneca and smaller biotech companies. He has held leading positions, including Head of Chemistry and Head of Research within AstraZeneca’s CNS and pain research unit, and has extensive experience in evaluation of drug development projects in connection with in-licensing. In recent years, Jan-Erik Nyström has worked as a consultant for smaller biotech companies in both operational and executive roles. Other assignments include serving as a board member of Pharmability AB. Jan-Erik Nyström holds a PhD (TeknD) in organic chemistry from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where he has also been appointed as an adjunct associate professor (docent).
